Reveal Files and folders on Windows (all versions)

Windows 95

Follow mentioned steps to reveal all hidden files.

1. Go to your desktop.

2.Open My Computer option.

3. Then go to the view menu and after that click Options.

4.New Window appears on your screen select View tab.

5.Now you will see the Show all files button then select it.

6.Press OK button then close My Computer window.

7.Complete.

Windows 98

Follow mentioned steps to reveal all hidden files

1.Exit all programs and go to your desktop.

2. Then open My computer icon.

3.Click the View menu then click Folder Options.

4.When appears new window then select the View tab.

5.Scroll down then select Show all files radio button.

6.Click Apply then OK after that close My Computer window.

7.Done.

Windows ME

Follow mentioned steps to reveal all hidden files

1.Go to your desktop.

2.Then open My computer.

3.open the Tools menu and select Folder Options.

4.Then appear a new window and select the View tab.

5.Select Show hidden files and folders button that is under the Hidden files and folders section.

6. Click Apply and then Ok, then close My Computer.

7.Successfully completed.

Windows NT

If you want to see your Hidden files and folders then follow these instructions

1.Close all programs then go to your desktop

2.Open My computer

3.Click the View menu then select on Options.

4.A new window appear on your screen then click on the View tab.

5. Scroll down then see the Show all files button and select it.

6.Click OK then Close My Computer.

Windows 2000

To see Hidden files and folders then follow these instructions

1. Shutting down all programs and go to your desktop

2.Open My Computer from double click.

3.Go to the Tools menu and click it, then select Folder Options.

4.You can see a new window will appear on your screen then click the View tab.

5.Select Show hidden files and folders line which is under the Hidden files and folders section.

6.Select Apply and then OK after that close this window.

7.Now you will see your hidden files and folders.

Windows XP and Windows 2003

To be able to find hidden files and folders follow the instructions

1.Go to your desktop.

2.Open My Computer,

3.See the Tools menu and click it then select Folder Options.

4.Then new window will appear after that select the View tab.

5.Click on the box next to Display the contents of system folders.

6.Select the Show hidden files and folders line that is under the Hidden files and folders.

7. Click Apply then OK. After that close this window.

8. Now your computer show all hidden files and folders.

Windows Vista

1. Closing all open programs and go to the Desktop,

2.Go to the lower-left corner of your screen and click on the Start button.

3.Select on the Control Panel menu option.

4.You will be in Classic View when the Control Panel open or Control Panel.

Home View depending on your options: When you are in the Classic View follow the steps :-

  • Double click on the Folder Options
  • Choose the View tab
  • Go to step 5 given below.

When you are in the Control Panel Home view follow the steps :-

  • Select on the Appearance and Personalization link.
  • Select on the Show Hidden File or Folders.
  • Go to step 5 given below.

5.Select the button next to Show hidden files and folders that is under the Hidden files and folders section.

6.Click Apply then OK. After that you can close this window.

7.Now your computer able to show all hidden files and folders.

Windows 7

1. Go to your desktop.

2.Click on your Windows start then open your Start menu.

3. You can see Control Panel menu option and click it.

4.When the Control Panel menu opens then look at the Folder Option link.

5.Select the View tab

6. Click the Hidden Files and Folders that is under the Advanced setting list.

7.Click the Show Hidden files, folders or drives.

8.Click Apply and then OK. After that close this menu.

9.Windows 7 now be able to show all hidden files, folders or drives.

Windows 8

1. Go to the windows 8 then start screen, select on the Control Panel app.

2.Scroll down to the More settings option.

3.Now open a more traditional looking Windows 8 Control Panel. If it is complete then select on the Appearance and Personalization link.

4.Under the Folder Options category select the Show Hidden Files and Folders.

5.Select the Show hidden files, folders or drives which is under the Hidden files and folders.

6. Click Apply then OK.

7.Complete.

Windows 10

1.Go to your computer screen and open any folder.

2.You can see File, Home, Share and View tabs at the upper-left part of the screen. Select on the View tab.

3.Now you will see a box ans a line labeled Hidden items. Select it.

4. Now Windows 10 able to see hidden files and folders.

5.Select on the Hidden items box again to re-hide all files when you are done.
